Is it safe for working out on an empty stomach?
Exercising regularly on an empty stomach can lead to a variety of problems, including muscle injuries and heart problems, said Russian specialists.
According to Rsport.ria.ru, it is advisable to do only stretching and breathing exercises before breakfast. But training with loads is permissible only 1.5-2 hours after the morning meal, which should be light. After waking up, the specialist recommends consuming a protein shake along with fruits and vegetables. However, the doctor does not recommend drinking smoothies.
The specialist recalled that when training on an empty stomach, the load on the heart and other muscles increases, with a lack of glycogen they begin to “burn” instead of fat.
It is ideal, of course, to move all more or less serious sports in the afternoon, and in the morning to do something calmer, the specialist wrote on her Instagram.
